Client: Acumen Soft technologies (a web development company), Salt Lake, Kolkata         Acumen, has had to shift premises every one/two years to accommodate its increasing number of employees. Hence the design focus was to maximize shiftable assets and minimize recurring expenditures incurred while shifting to new spaces. The unique shape of the prefabricated tables address individual comfort and encourage discussion rather than isolating the staff. They can be easily adapted to different spaces by altering their orientation as desired. Each table can be plugged to any other table/wall socket without the help of an electritian. The existing false ceiling was brought down and the aluminium channels were reused to create a much higher, semi-exposed, dark ceiling which could conceal the beams. All the furniture, lights, AC units and blinds can be packed, moved and reinstalled in two days. The office has been converted into a wifi zone to avoid a recurring cost of lan cabling.
