KHADI GRAMODYOG BHAVAN - Redesign of the Khadi Gramodyog Bhavan, Kolkata
Client: Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Mumbai 

As part of the revival efforts of the dying Khadi and Village Industries, the KVIC was geared towards converting the Khadi Bhavans to contemporary life-style stores. I was involved in designing a pilot store to replace the existing Bhavans. With a focus on functionality, a re-categorization of the merchandize was proposed and a non-site specific display system was customized for the broad categories. It was proposed that due publicity be given to the weavers, production techniques and the Satyagraha movement as enlarged images and anecdotes.
